The Royal House of Hall

Welcome to my home on the web. You are now sitting in my living room. Like all good host allow me to tell you a little about the Montague, Johnson, Hall family. Please allow me to give you a brief history of the family of Fayette County, west Tennessee.

Sit back and relax.

My family's genealogy

Racial and ethnic mix: Black, Arab (Hamitic-Semite), American Indian (Cherokee/Ani-Yunwiya), English, German, Irish, Scottish, Danish (Viking), and French (Northman), Gypsy.

My family has 1000s of years of history. These pages are my attempt to tell some of that history.

As of today, my family is Arab Indian. As you can tell by the list of my ethnic mix listed above, that wasn't always the case. Let me start by giving you a brief history of the Arabs. Arabs descended from Abraham in the Bible. We were born of Sarah's maid servant, Hagar. Ishmael is the progenitor of the race. History shows that Ishmael had 12 sons that became the princes of Arabia.

I have been able to trace my roots back to King Harold of Denmark and Iceland. Harold was known as Harold the Black. Not much is known about this king at this time. His descendants ruled Denmark, Iceland, and The Isle of Man. His lineage goes as followed:

Harold the Black
Godred Crovan (King Orry)
Olaf I the Red
Ochraidh Godred II the Black
Fergusius
Aufricia or Aufrica, the wife of Simon Montacute

Aufrica's husband was a French Northman. In her right he became the King of the Isle of Man.

William Montacute
Sir William De Montagu, Earl of Salibury
Sir William Montacute, second Earl of Salibury

I was surprised to find the name Neville in my research connected with the Montague name. I had heard that the famous Neville family claimed royal blood also. I found this link to be of interest. Check it out. Then hit the back button to continue.

The history of this line begins in America with Peter Montague, one of the progenitors of the Montague family in America.

The beginning of the Hall name as we know it comes to us by way of Germany. The name is said to mean, one that dwells in or near a manor house. The father of us Halls of Fayette County, in west Tennessee of ethnic descent are the offspring of Dan Hall. Dan was a slave owner. He had a son by a slave woman who's name is unknown. That child was named Cornelius Hall.

Cornelius had a son named Dennis that kept records in the family Bible. Those records indicated that he was part Arab. Dennis Hall was also a slave. He served his grandfather, Dan, as his butler.

Dennis had a son named George Hall. George was born free as far as I know. It is said that he was the meanest and toughest member of the family.

George Hall's son is Leroy Hall. Leroy is my grandfather. He is a mixed Cherokee Indian. George married Jenny Montague. Jenny was almost full blood Indian. Her father was Rhodes Montague. He taught his family about his Indian heritage from what I have been told. His words were, "Never hate the Indian because they are your family." Jenny's mother was Caroline Montague. Caroline's (spelled Calline on her tomb stone) race was believed to be that of Cherokee Indian. Leroy, my beloved grandfather passed away three days after his 95th birthday. His birthday was 1/06/2004. He passed on 1/09/2004. He is buried in Patterson cemetary in Somerville, Tennessee. Much of my information came from him. Rest in peace granddaddy. We love you.

Today we are trying to hold on to as much culture as possible in an ever changing world. We have even had to re-invent ourselves. We are one large family, members of the Montague-Hall clan.
